LGL Beams - GL 18C or Laminated Glulam Lumber (sometimes called Edge Glued Laminate Timber) are mostly made from hardwood and therefore are stronger than LGL 17C beams. LGL 18C beams are generally used as roof beams, bearers and lintels in new homes, extensions, renovations, commercial projects and high rise complexes. LGL beams are available in almost any length with the only restrictions being transportation and site accessibility.
As these beams are untreated, all exposed beams will need to be sealed on-site as moisture intake and drying could result in delamination.
