Red Cedar - Toona Australis
A large hardwood formally abundant in Australia now of occasional occurrence in eastern Australia extending to Papua New Guinea and South East Asia. Heartwood is pale to dark red, depending largely on the maturity of the wood. Sapwood very pale pink or yellow and distinctive from the heartwood. Texture is rather coarse and uneven. Grain is usually straight or slightly interlocked. Has a very distinct odour.
