A large Australian hardwood that is used in many structural applications such as poles, heavy engineering construction, boat building, flooring and plywood. Spotted Gum has a pale to dark brown heartwood and a distinctively paler sapwood. The texture is moderately coarse and grain is variable. A very decorative timber with gum veins being quite common.
